The Chama app caters to groups of friends and family looking to save together. To get started, download the app, complete your profile, and undergo identity verification. Once verified, your personal wallet will be set up, enabling you to participate in Chamas and carry out transactions. You can conveniently deposit funds into your wallet from M-Pesa and withdraw funds back to M-Pesa.

With the Chama app by Stanbic Bank, you have the flexibility to create multiple Chamas. Invite individuals from your contacts list to join your groups; they will receive invitations via SMS. Those who accept can review the group's constitution and accept the invite.

The Chama app from Stanbic Bank empowers you to manage your group in accordance with your collective preferences.

Highlighted features available to groups include:

 <li>Complete visibility for all members: All group activities and transactions are fully visible and easily searchable in real-time.</li>
 <li>Customizable membership roles: Officials can assign members roles like chairperson, treasurer, or mentor, with the ability to have multiple individuals in each position. Mentors provide guidance without financial involvement.</li>
 <li>Membership statuses: Members can be categorized as active, on-hold, or terminated, with the flexibility to change statuses as needed.</li>
 <li>Loans functionality: Groups can opt for a loan system with customizable rules such as interest rates, approval requirements, maximum loan amounts, and repayment terms. The app tracks disbursals and repayments through an invoicing system.</li>
 <li>Group goals setting: Define your group's objectives, monitor progress visually, allocate funds towards goals, and easily transfer funds between goals and the group's balance.</li>
</ul>

Additionally, the Chama app offers real-time chat functionality with integrated polling features for important decision-making within the group.
